Protecting the Women of South Carolina

SenatorGrahamannounced two grants that total nearly $13,000 and are for law enforcement and social service agencies to use to further combat domestic vioence in South Carolina. These grants will chiefly protect women, who are the main victims of dometice violence.

 

The City of Spartanburg is recieving nearly $4,000 to combat domestic violence through their partnership with Safe Homes-Rape Crisis. This money allows a multidisciplinary approach to be taken to these issues that harm many women every year.

 

The Attorney General's Office is the recipient of the other $900, 000 grant. This money will go into the [ttp://www.scattorneygeneral.org/public/women.html/|STOP Violence Against Women] initiative. This initiative helps those who are vitims of Criminal Dometic Violence.

 

These two grants will help to protect the women of South Carolina by bolstering programs, services, and law enforcement in the never ending battle against domestic violence.
