NSA Data Collection
12 May 2006
I wrote to you the other day about a topic of cocern to both of us and all of America; the collection of phone records by the NSA from the three major phone companies. I have seen your statements on FoxNews and in the San Jose Mercury News
regarding discomfort with this massive data collection.
Today, I ask that you make a floor statement during morning business for the Record. The newsreport will disappear in time and the statement in the Record will be their for posterity. This needs to be done so that evryone can see. I also ask that you place the statement on your website and and send it to the SC newspapers.
This will be good for the country. Regardless of the climate the Lord will protect us in righteous action. This is such an action because the foundational freedoms, granted by God, are at stake. If we allow the data collection; the next violation maybe monitoring our phone calls. This data collection is an invasion of privacy and is against the law because the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986] makes such behavior illegal to collect the information without a subpoena or court order. The lack of said order is why Qwest Communications refused to give the NSA access to the data.
Please make a public statement on the floor of the U.S. Senate to be put in the Record. Thank you.
