Judge Roberts & the Katrina Commission

28 eptember 2005

Dear Fellow American:

Sen. Graham is not forgetting those things that would disqualify an individual from sitting on the court, as he is a member of the bar himself. His point is that absent anything in you list being present who could be more qualified than an individual with the brilliant legal mind of John Roberts.

I applaud you in recognizing Judge Roberts as a fair choice, but it seems that your dislaike for President Bush is clouding your vision. It is extremely unfair to the individual in question to evaluate them as unsatisfactory simply becasue you are against this president. It is also unfair to not decide weather or not you trust Judge Roberts based on the nominee's record and statements. He should stand or fall on his own merit not on the merit of the nominating authority.

It is also unfiar to measure one nominee against another. Mr. Brown was inept in his job. However, that appointment only occured becasue of the Senate confirming him. Mr. Brown was a mistake becasue he did lack the experience required of his job at FEMA. However, I do not hink it is fair to blame him for the hurricane deaths becasue there were failures at all levels of government.

The WMD is not the issue here. It is your disastisfaction with the president and his policies. I have issues with the Iraq situation but I prefer to evaluate each situation on its own merit and look at what others are saying. I may not completely trust President Bush, but I do trust Sen. Graham.

The joint committee will look into the situation first. The Democrats need to participate if they want to complain. After the joint committee investigates ther will be an independent commission assigned to look into those things that they decide that they, for political reasons, cannot do a fair job with themselves.

Roberts - A fair choice but others could be much better !!! Impeach "W"

Sen. Lindsey Graham

"If being intelligent, brilliant, a superb lawyer, the greatest legal mind of your generation and well qualified is not enough, what is?" said Sen. Lindsey Graham (news, bio, voting record), R-S.C., a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

==There are many other criteria which could disqualify anyone - a criminal record, connections to the mob, a poor war record, direct lies to a committee, a low moral standard as demonstrated by life style, and a poor record for human rights and equal rights...

=

I would not trust anyone "W" Bush nominates - check out Michael Brown who through his lack of job skills has managed to kill hundreds of Americans down South !

==When "W" Bush finds those WMD - then we can again listen to him!

=

==Where is the "independent" committee looking into Katrina ???? It better be here soon or neo-cons will lose huge in 2006!
