I jumped the gun on my criticism. I should have posed it as a theory and not acted as if it were a fact. I respect your opinion and am now 'predisposed' to change my mind based on that opinion since I do not get to talk to her myself. I apologize for taking a 'cheap shot' at her and President Bush. That was unfair.

I was shocked by your quote to AP and the Washington Post "Be quiet for a little bit and listen, just shut up for a few minutes and give the lady a chance to find out who she is." However, my initial shock give way to a resounding, 'yes, sir.'

I found your comment in the Dallas/Fort Worth Star-Telegram reassuring: "Her challenge is going to be to pass the qualification test." This is very correct and who better than a judge to evaluate the creditials of a perspective judge.

I still urge tough questions. I want to know what her judicial philosophy is, sefically original intent or strict constructionist. She needs also to answer questions about recusal if anything she was involved in vomes before her on the court.

I agree that we all need to sit back and listen before we jump. I admit being wrong in my reaction. I am disappointed that he did not nominate Karen Williams or Priscilla Owen, whom I knew more about. It also matterd that Owen had been through the process before and you had reccommended Williams. The disappointment will fade.

I will sit back, listen and learn. I respect what you say and trust you to be a guide on this nomination since we do not know ourselves. Please be careful and do a very thorough job. I thank you for your time. Good luck.
