I have high respect for you. I am disappointed with your support of Mr. Gonzales.

I know you'll question him vigorously because how you questioned Sec. Rumsfeld in June proves this. I cannot understand how you can support him at this juncture because of his involvement with the group that wrote the Abu Ghraib memos. I wish you would have withheld you support until after you questioned him because afterall you understand better than most of us the importance of the Geneva Convention.

I agree that Mr. Gonzales does not hate the Geneva Convention, however, the advice he gave the president shows a level of disrespect for the Convention that protects our Armed Forces. You know this as a Reserve Judge on the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals.

I sincerely beleive that Mr. Gonzales is not qualified based on his opinion of the Geneva Convention. I request again that you consider placing a hold on his nomination until after we fully investigate the memo issue, which should be dealt with seperately.
