Blocking Jim Haynes

I am behind you 100% on blocking Jim Haynes from getting on the Fourth Circuit because of what he did as General Council at the Defense Department. I saw that you denied that you were doing when a reporter from The Hill asked you about it. I understand why you must deny this action, but I wish you would come put and unequivically state it if you are blocking because this block is occuring becasue of principal.

I fully support blocking a nominee in committee becasue it is the correct place to stall and possibly derail a nominee. It is not hypocritical to block the nominee in committee; as it would be if you participated in a filibuster on the floor. You are doing the right thing, McCain or not.

Mr. Haynes should not be on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appreals becasue of his role in the scandal over the torture memos. I do not understand anyone wanting someone who participated in this haneious activity on the court. Haynes getting through would be a gross injustice to the system and an afront to the rule of law.

Please keep blocking this nominee and publicly admit it. Thank you.
